Adam, Bob, Catherine, Danielle, Esther, and Frank are grocery shopping in isle #4. They live in an open-carry state and they are all armed. No one is paying attention to one another and are independently looking at various grocery items.Suddenly, a gun shot is heard.Everyone immediately draws their weapon and looks into the center of the isle.
- Adam sees a shot woman (Catherine) on the floor and sees 4 individuals all holding guns pointing at one another. Bob is pointing a gun at him. Adam thinks he’s about to be shot.
- Bob turns around and sees that someone’s been shot. Based on where everyone in the isle is located, he determines that the shooter is either Adam or Danielle. He takes aim at Adam and is confident that it’s him.
- Catherine was shot.
- Danielle shot Catherine and is preparing to shoot her next target, Bob.
- Esther saw Danielle shoot Catherine and begins taking aim at Danielle.
- Frank was the last to turn around and has absolutely no idea who the killer is. He takes aim at the only brown man, Bob.
- Everyone has a look of terror on their faces.
In your opinion, based on the information provided above and your understanding of human behavior, adrenaline, and self preservation, is it likely that one of these innocent bystander will accidentally kill another innocent bystander in the next few seconds?
The above are the results from the poll that I administered in my political group – Civil Political Discourse 🇺🇸
Facebook interviewed me personally back in October, 2020, and commended me for being able to host healthy, political conversations. My group is sorely lacking a robust Democratic/Progressive presence, so if you fall on the left side of the isle, I doubly encourage you to join. That being said, we welcome members of any political affiliation.
If you’re interested in seeing the rest of the commentary or participating in future thought experiments, I invite you to join my group.
