The year is 2063 and Democrats control the Presidency, both chambers of Congress, and have a majority of SCOTUS seats. They implement policy that severely restricts Americans’ rights to bear arms. They require that gun-holders be 25+ and hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. For anyone else to be in possession of a firearm would be a federal crime. Republicans and Libertarians bring their claims to court but are swiftly shot down, owing to stacked court appointees.

Matthew Brady is Tom Brady’s grandson, and currently the best quarterback the world has ever seen. As an advocate of 2A, he strongly opposes what he considers an infringement upon his constitutional rights. At the end of the day, he feels betrayed by the politicians that run the country.

He decides to ‘get political’ for the first time in his career and tweets, “My fellow Americans, to preserve the integrity of our constitution, you must vote these Democrats out of office by voting for Republican and Libertarian candidates instead.”

If the above scenario actually took place, would you condemn Matthew Brady for using his platform to put out a political opinion?

The above are the results from the poll that I administered in my political group – Civil Political Discourse 🇺🇸

Facebook interviewed me personally back in October, 2020, and commended me for being able to host healthy, political conversations. My group is sorely lacking a robust Democratic/Progressive presence, so if you fall on the left side of the isle, I doubly encourage you to join. That being said, we welcome members of any political affiliation.

If you’re interested in seeing the rest of the commentary or participating in future thought experiments, I invite you to join my group.
