WASHINGTON, D.C. — Many with eyes glued to the TV right now are wondering the same thing, “How can these Trump supporters breach Capitol Hill, defy law enforcement’s orders, destroy public property, violently attempt to confront lawmakers, and not have the foresight to wear bullet-proof vests? Aren’t they afraid of getting shot?”
We posed this question to our very own White House correspondent, Sibil Mathew.
TSR: “Ms. Sibil Mathew, can you tell our readers why it is that armed Trump supporters don’t wear bullet-proof vests when storming Capitol Hill?”
Sibil Mathew: “The answer is really quite simple. Whether or not one should wear a bullet-proof vest rests entirely on which America they’re ‘protesting’ in.”
TSR: “What do you mean by ‘which’ America? Are you talking about South America?”
Sibil Mathew: “No. You see, if you protest while white, you’re protesting in White America – an America with a completely different set of rules. In white America, you don’t need a bullet-proof vest; your whiteness provides you with more than enough protection from physical assault and/or death by law enforcement.”
TSR: “What makes you say that?”
Sibil Mathew: “A handful of white protesters literally breached the United States Capitol Hill, fired a gun in the area, and those protestors are still alive. Had an armed brown or black man breached any body of Government and fired a weapon, they would not live to see another day. What more proof do you need?”
TSR: “Touché”

If you enjoy discussing politics, I want to invite you to join my Facebook group – Civil Political Discourse. Facebook interviewed me personally back in October, 2020, and commended me for being able to host healthy, political conversations. My group is sorely lacking a robust Democratic/Progressive presence, so if you fall on the left side of the isle, I doubly encourage you to join.
