I am a Republican who firmly believes in the Constitutionally-protected right of free speech. Only a tyrant would dare attempt to take this away from me or my fellow Americans.
This is precisely why I unequivocally support President Trump’s desire of wanting to jail any American for burning the American flag. Americans must be denied the ability to express their political frustrations and dissent by burning the flag – a symbolic expression of free speech.
During his Tulsa, Oklahoma Rally in June 2020, President Trump said,
“And you know, we oughta do something, Mr. Senators, we have two great Senators, we oughta come up with legislation that if you burn the American flag, you go to jail for one year,” the President added, turning to Oklahoma Sens. Jim Inhofe and James Lankford. “Jim and James, you know we oughta do it. You know, they talk about freedom of speech, and I believe in freedom of speech. But that’s desecration.”
